Studio Connector
for WordPress®
SETUP & RECOVERY

Your direct WordPress workflow

Install the bridge, connect your account, confirm Studio access, then subscribe and build your flow.

Connect before payment

  1. Sign in to the connector dashboard with your workflow's Google account.
  2. Download the bridge ZIP. In WordPress open Plugins → Add Plugin → Upload Plugin; choose the ZIP and activate.
  3. Open Settings → Studio Bridge, then Connect with Google. Confirm the site and account in setup and return to WordPress.
  4. Check that WordPress says Site connected. This is a metadata diagnostic, not a complete workflow test.
  5. Confirm Studio's native Send a webhook step and the necessary administrator approval policy before subscribing.
  6. Subscribe in this dashboard with Stripe Checkout. Refresh setup after payment is verified.

No Application Password or customer licence key is required. The plugin itself is free to download and update.

The three steps

StepConfigure
Prepare WordPress actionUse the exact paired site address, choose the operation's fields and map a stable source reference. For example, a document ID plus :draft. Use a distinct suffix for a separate logical action.
Send a webhookURL: your site's /wp-json/sitetrail-studio/v1/action. Method: POST. Payload: map only the complete Prepared payload variable. No surrounding quotes, extra JSON or hand-entered token.
Read WordPress resultResponse: the native webhook Response variable. Expected site, request and action: map Site URL, Request ID and Action from Prepare.

Each logical operation uses this three-step pattern. The result returns numeric IDs and counts, status, links and relevant content/list fields. List output is a bounded JSON list for later steps, with at most 20 items per page.

Available actions

Create post/page draft (with optional image), get content, list content, update content, explicitly publish, import image, update image alt text/caption, list categories/tags and assign existing categories/tags.

Images must be accessible HTTPS JPEG/PNG/WebP files up to 5 MB and 24 million pixels. WordPress downloads files directly. Private Drive files, video uploads, WooCommerce objects, SEO-plugin fields and custom post types are outside this release.

Updates never change a post's publication status. Publishing and changing already published content also require the bridge's Publication option and the selected WordPress user's actual permissions.

Hosting and access checks

Retries and uncertain writes

A failed native webhook stops the flow before Read result. Google may display a generic HTTP or connection error rather than the bridge's full explanation.

  1. Inspect WordPress for the intended draft/image or changed item.
  2. Retry the whole flow using the same original reference and inputs. This obtains a fresh five-minute permission; successful writes return their earlier result.
  3. If WordPress reports a conflict or uncertain operation, stop and contact support with the site, action and reference. Do not send post content, permission tokens or payment details.

Changing the inputs under the same reference is rejected. A new reference represents a genuinely new operation. A partial/uncertain write is not automatically repeated.

Updates, billing and disconnecting

Use WordPress's normal Update now control or enable optional automatic updates. Updates do not require an active subscription, and a temporary feed outage does not reset a connection. Keep a site backup according to your normal WordPress policy.

Manage payment/cancellation in the Stripe billing portal from setup. Disconnecting revokes site access; it does not cancel billing. Cancellation and account transfers are separate. Contact support@sitetrail.com for a verified Google-account/domain transfer.
